Eurobitume is widely recognised as the voice of the bitumen industry in Europe. During 2020, we helped promote the efficient, safe use of bitumen in Europe by sharing our and our members’ detailed bitumen knowledge, experience and advice with industry stakeholders and opinion formers.

Member and partner of IDRRIM

As a member and partner of IDRRIM (the French Institute of Roads, Streets and Infrastructure for Mobility). Eurobitume France is a key stakeholder in the French National Road Observatory (ONR). In early 2020 published it’s third annual report into the state of road networks in France and the resources devoted to their maintenance.

50% partner in the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA)

Eurobitume UK is a 50% partner in the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA), which organised a Sharing Best Practice educational and networking event for local authority highway engineers and road industry professionals from across the UK.

Life Cycle Inventory report

We published a new, significantly updated Eurobitume Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) report, enabling the environmental impact of manufacturing end-products that incorporate the paving grade bitumens most widely used in Europe to be accurately calculated.

Test method standards

Eurobitume provided expert input into the revision of the following test method standards for bitumen and bituminous binders, e.g. BBR testing (EN 14771) and testing of SP RaB (EN 1427).
