An estimated 1,000 individuals associated with the bitumen, asphalt and road industries across Europe, and also internationally, are expected to attend the 6th Eurasphalt and Eurobitume Congress, at the Prague Congress Centre, Czech Republic, between 1st and 3rd of June 2016.

Themed “Investing in our greatest asset: roads”, the Congress will be opened by EAPA President John Kruse Larsen. Dan ?ok, the Czech Republic Minister of Transport, will welcome delegates and Ismail Ertug MEP, the Coordinator of the Social Democrats for the Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) in the European Parliament will deliver the opening keynote address.

Thierry Goger, Secretary General of the Forum of European National Highway Research Laboratories (FEHRL), and Jean-Francois Corté, former Secretary General of the World Road Association (PIARC), are among the other keynote speakers.

This unique event, which is staged every four years, includes thought-leadership technical presentations across a range of topical areas including: warm asphalt mixtures; mixture and performance testing; recycling; sustainable development; health, safety and environment; maintenance and rehabilitation, and binder performance and testing. The congress now also offers specific seminars on less technical issues of interest to a wider audience.

“The Eurasphalt and Eurobitume Congress has grown fantastically since the first one was held in Strasbourg in 1996. It is now regarded as the ‘must attend’ event within our industries and is an important platform for promoting and motivating joint action on common industry-related challenges we need to face together in the future”, explained Eurobitume President Siobhan McKelvey.
