Continental Bitumen joins Eurobitume

Continental Bitumen’s COO Procurement & Operations, Emmanuel Cornet, explained: “Following the creation of our dedicated bitumen entity for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Continental Bitumen, which manages a significant supply of bitumen specifically for Europe, it was very logical for us to join Eurobitume. We are delighted to contribute to ongoing industry debates regarding the future development of standards and regulations, particularly involving safety & environmental issues.

“As from 2023, we’ll be operating the first two LNG bitumen vessels to reduce Continental Bitumen’s environmental impact and ensure the safe and sustainable use of Bitumen.” Eurobitume Director General Siobhan McKelvey commented: “I am delighted to welcome Continental Bitumen into the Eurobitume family and look forward to them adding their expertise and experience to that of our other members, helping us promote the efficient, economic, effective, safe and sustainable use of refined bitumen in road, industrial and building applications.”
