Asphalt & Bitumen Day 2016
Organised by Eurobitume and the Belgian Association of Asphalt Producers (BVA/ABPE), the event attracted 240 participants from the industry and authorities. Alongside the congress, an exhibition was held where 18 exhibitors presented their products and services.
The programme opened with keynote presentations by AWV Administrator General Tom Roelants (pictured right) and SPW Director General Etienne Willame (pictured below left), who gave their insight into the foreseen infrastructure developments in Flanders and Walloon respectively.
Subsequently, Xavier Tackoen showed the audience how our mobility will develop in the near future and what the consequences are for society.
The event was much appreciated and also included more technically-oriented presentations covering:
- Noise reduction in urban areas
- Specifications
- Bitumen production
- Surface treatments
- Skid resistance
- Pavement management
Overall the event can be considered to have been very successful and this was the first time it had been held at the Diamant Conference & Business Centre.
