Boil-over Prevention Document

Developed by Eurobitume’s Safe Handling Sub-Committee, the Boil-over Prevention Document sets out recommendations to help hauliers and loading site managers reduce the risk of boil-over during bitumen loading. It is the sole responsibility of the carrier to follow the Eurobitume Loading Compatibility Matrix which, in particular, stipulates that ‘the tank shall not contain any traces of water or aqueous products’. Only the loading site manager has the authority to decide whether a tank should be loaded or not.

The Boil-over Prevention Document is currently available in English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish from the Eurobitume website.

A full library of Eurobitume safe handling guidance documents can be accessed from the Publications section of our website here.
