SMB becomes the first International Member of Eurobitume

Eurobitume is delighted to welcome Ivory Coast-based Sociéte Multinationale de Bitumes (SMB), a leading bitumen supplier in West and Central Africa, as the first company to join the Association in the recently created International Member category.

SMB CEO Mamadou Doumbia stated: “It’s a great honour for Société Multinationale de Bitumes to become the first indigenous international member of Eurobitume. This is for the good of the entire bitumen industry in Africa.

“As a member of Eurobitume we can now benefit from European experiences and best practices, which will help us overcome key challenges the industry here faces in health, safety & environment (HSE), innovations and road economics.”

 

Eurobitume Director General Siobhan McKelvey explained: “We created this new membership category because of growing interest in our activities due to Eurobitume’s increased profile and standing beyond Europe.

“I am delighted to welcome SMB as our first International Member and look forward to the fresh perspective and experiences they will bring to our Association.
