Successful Bitumen & Asphalt Day in Belgium

On 20th March 2024, more than 150 bitumen and asphalt industry professionals attended the “Durable asphalt for a sustainable future”-themed 2024 Bitumen & Asphalt Day at the Bluepoint Business Centre in Brussels, Belgium.

Jointly organised by the Belgian Association of Asphalt Producers (BVA/ABPE) and Eurobitume, the event was co-chaired by Max von Devivere from Eurobitume and ABPE Chairman Jan Folens. Industry experts spoke about a variety of important topical issues including:

  • permeable pavements
  • durability
  • environmental regulations
  • best techniques for asphalt production

In addition, Eurobitume’s Dr Ian Lancaster presented an overview of Eurobitume’s projects.

Alongside the presentations which can me downloaded here, delegates were able to walk around an interesting exhibition where 15 manufacturers, suppliers and contractors showed and discussed their most recent products and developments.

Following the presentations, many delegates, speakers and exhibitors enjoyed a very successful networking session and drinks reception.
