After the Covid pandemic had caused so many Eurobitume events in 2021 to move online, it was a joy to welcome back so many stakeholder friends at physical and hybrid events in 2022.
That said, the first event of the year was online, the 2022 e-Rencontres Bitume.
Just under 100 people associated with the bitumen industry in France, attended Eurobitume France’s annual Rencontres Bitume.
More than 150 delegates and exhibitors came to the 2022 Belgium Asphalt & Bitumen Day, jointly organised by Eurobitume and the Belgian Association of Asphalt Producers (BVA/ABPE).
Our General Meeting in October was held online. The agenda included confirmation of three new Eurobitume members - FM Conway, Irish Tar & Bitumen Suppliers and Rubis Energie (further details in Membership chapter) – as well as presentations on the work of the HSE, Technical and Public Relations and Communications Committees and the Bitumen Sustainability Steering Group.
Our flagship event in 2022 was the E&E Event, which took place in Vienna in November and was attended by more than 330 people from Europe and as far afield as India, Kazakhstan and the United States. The Event also attracted a high level of interest and support from 24 exhibitors and sponsors, including Gold sponsors OMV and Cargill.

Through the virtual platform, participants had three months’ access to all the materials from E&E Event 2022 – enabling them to view presentations they may have originally missed and revisit others they wanted to see again.
The next big, joint Eurobitume and EAPA event will be the 8th E&E Congress, in Budapest, Hungary, on Wednesday 19th to Friday 21st of June in 2024. Make a note in your calendar so you don’t miss out!
